Background. The aim of this presentation is to show how a girl with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) was diagnosed with a rare complication, how her treatment was chosen based on her characteristics as a SLE patient with associated peripheral nervous system complications, and how her condition was successfully treated without causing any long-term effects.

 

Methods. Clinical findings during the visit electromyography and nerve conduction tests for diagnosis blood test examinations to monitor the patient's condition The patient was visited several times with examinations and tests scheduled after diagnosis and their follow-up to monitor the effectiveness of therapy and to observe any clinical improvements indicating resolution of the complication and remission of the clinic related to SLE.

 

Results. After the therapy and as a result of improvements attributable to the correct choice and management of the therapy, there was a remission of her pathology, a resolution of complications, and it was possible to reduce the dosage of the corticosteroid 

 

Conclusions. The management of SLE could be very difficult and related to a correct clinical approach in the first steps of the visits to know exactly the various complications associated to disease and to make the best choices of therapy for the patient
